Short Stories

"monkeymonkeygirl" – Colorado Review, Summer 2025. "If I was at the nursing home on any given day at 3:51, a school bus pulled up across the street to spit out elementary school kids, scarab beetles with tiny limbs bent under huge backpacks. Little kids off first, then the bigger ones. The final girl, dead last and obscured by attitude and eyeliner, walked as if no one should dare to look at her: radiating an untouchable holiness."

"Islamadora" – Appeared in the Missouri Review, Volume XXVI Number 3, 2003. "The women of the office gather around Pilar's desk to play Who Has the Worst Children. The higher up in the office hierarchy, the more offensive and shocking the offspring."

"Willing" – Appeared in Fogged Clarity, February 2011. "It was Kurt’s turn to host the neighborhood playgroup, and he felt uneasy as he located the Equal packets behind the sugar bowl. The women attending his little gala – his nascent fête – were all women who discussed him. He was a topic. He was the man who stayed home."
